|
The Reportal is a repository of reports that provide statistical and operational information about the University of Queensland. Corporate reports can be viewed by UQ staff and external visitors. UQ staff who register for access can also view reports designed to assist them in their day to day work as well as reports containing data of a more sensitive nature. Apart from a small number of explanatory pdf documents all of the reports on the Reportal have been created using BusinessObjects.
The reports can be viewed, downloaded or sent to other users. A number of the more operational reports can be refreshed based on criteria selected by the user.
The reports are organised by category but can also be viewed by portal.
Categories
Categories reflect the type of data contained in the report and include student, staff, research, finance and other. Within each category there are a number of sub-categories which provide a further break-down by type and these are further broken down by year.
Portals
Reports can also be viewed by one of the following portals - corporate, indicators and faculty/organisational unit.
- The corporate portal contains official university statistical reports. These can be accessed by all staff and external visitors.
- The indicators portal contains performance-related reports and reports designed for University reviews and audits. Access to some of these reports is restricted.
- The faculty/organisational unit portals provide reports tailored to meet the needs of individual faculties, schools and other areas. Access is limited to staff within the relevant area.
My Documents
'My Documents' is an area of the Reportal in which UQ staff can store the reports most useful to them. These may be reports contained elsewhere in the Reportal or reports they themselves have created in BusinessObjects. Users can also send reports to other users' 'My Documents' area. For example, a user might create a BusinessObjects report that they would like their supervisor to view on-line. Only the individual staff member can see the documents contained in their own 'My Documents' area.
Reportal Assistance
Users can access help when logged into the Reportal. The Reportal help includes topics such as navigating the Reportal, searching documents and downloading and viewing reports as pdf documents. A glossary is also available, as well as a table summarising the changes to the University's organisational structure since 1988.
Assistance and further information regarding the Reportal is available by contacting User Support.
