BusinessObjects is the ad hoc query and reporting tool that interfaces with the UQ Data Warehouse and the UQ Reportal. Apart from a small number of explanatory pdf documents, all of the reports on the UQ Reportal have been produced using BusinessObjects.
The BusinessObjects software is free of charge to faculties, schools and other organisational units. These areas are encouraged to identify staff who can be trained in the use of BusinessObjects and the Reportal to ensure that their reporting needs are met. MIS provides support for BusinessObjects by assisting staff with their queries and reports, conducting training courses and workshops and producing standard reports. User support staff also make on-site visits to provide advice and to assist with more complex reporting requirements.
In order to obtain access staff must complete an application form and have their application approved by their supervisor. Subject to this approval, staff will be given the same level of access that they have on the University's operational systems.
BusinessObjects is deployed via Citrix Metaframe which staff can download from the Resource Centre.
